About the Role
Policy Pulse is seeking a Software Development Intern to support its technical team in building, testing, and refining tools that power the policy intelligence platform. This internship offers the opportunity to work hands-on with real-world data challenges and contribute to meaningful projects that streamline the policy landscape through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software features and APIs.
- Collaborate with engineers to implement and refine backend and frontend functionalities.
- Help identify bugs, test new features, and document technical workflows.
- Contribute to improving code efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
- Conduct research and support integration of external datasets or APIs.
- Participate in team meetings to share progress and collaborate on project goals.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in software engineering, data systems, and civic technology. You should be comfortable working with code, open to learning new frameworks, and able to think critically about technical problem-solving. Policy Pulse values initiative, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit — especially in environments where precision and innovation intersect.
Bonus Skills
Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or web development frameworks; interest in civic tech, AI, or public policy software.
